For more than two decades, the Agile Business Consortium has played a leading role in helping organisations and professionals apply the principles of agility to their work. Our Professional Membership pathway recognised individuals who demonstrated deep expertise and commitment to advancing those ideas in practice.
As we evolve our strategy, we’re simplifying our membership model to make it more inclusive, scalable, and focused on impact. From 31st November 2025, the Consortium will offer three clear routes to engage with us: Subscribers, Individual Membership, and Corporate Membership.
This evolution reflects the changing needs of our community. Today, the most valued professional skills are those that help people and organisations adapt, flex, and build resilience in a constantly changing environment. This evolution allows us to focus our energy on helping a wider community of professionals strengthen their capability in adaptability, flexibility, and resilience – rather than limiting recognition to those who complete a formal assessment.
From 31st November 2025, we will no longer be accepting new applications for Professional Membership or conducting assessments for professional status. Those who already hold Professional recognition will continue to be recognised as Professional Members. Their existing badge remains valid and visible as a mark of their achievement.
To thank our current Professional Members for their ongoing contribution and leadership, we are extending their membership for 12 months free of charge. After that, members will be invited to renew as an Individual Member to maintain their Professional status.
By simplifying our structure and celebrating contribution in this way, we are ensuring the Consortium remains a trusted and dynamic space for everyone developing the professional capabilities that define modern organisations – adaptability, flexibility, and resilience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is the Consortium changing its Professional Membership model?
A: The Agile Business Consortium remains the professional body for business agility. This evolution simply reflects how professionalism is changing in a world that values adaptability, flexibility, and resilience.
By moving away from individual assessments, we can focus our energy on helping a wider community of professionals strengthen these capabilities – being more inclusive and supporting more people to make a difference in their organisations, rather than limiting recognition to those who complete a formal process.
Q: Does this mean the Consortium is no longer a professional body?
A: No – absolutely not. The Consortium continues to be the professional body for business agility. What’s changing is how we recognise and support professional capability. We’re broadening access, creating more inclusive pathways, and embedding professional standards through learning, community, and collaboration rather than formal assessment alone.
Q: What does this mean for current Professional Members?
A: If you’re already a Professional Member, your status and badge remain fully recognised. They continue to represent your professional achievement and your commitment to advancing agile principles in practice.
To thank you for your ongoing contribution, we’re extending your membership for 12 months at no cost. After that, you’ll be invited to renew to maintain your recognition.
Q: Will my Professional Member badge still be valid?
A: Yes. Your badge remains valid, visible, and recognised as a mark of your professional standing. You can continue to display it in your profile, CV, or communications to reflect your expertise and alignment with the Consortium’s professional standards.
Q: Can I still apply to become a Professional Member?
A: No. From 31st November 2025, we will no longer be accepting new Professional Membership applications or conducting formal assessments. Instead, we’re developing more accessible ways for individuals to build and demonstrate professional capability through learning, practice, and community participation.
Q: Why are you giving 12 months of complimentary membership?
A: This is our way of saying thank you for the vital role our Professional Members have played in shaping the Consortium’s work. Your recognition remains valid, and the complimentary 12 months acknowledges your ongoing contribution as we evolve together.
Q: What happens after the 12-month complimentary period?
A: After the complimentary period, you’ll have the option to renew as an Individual Member to maintain your Professional status and associated benefits. We’ll make sure this process is simple and transparent.
Q: How does this fit with the Consortium’s wider strategy?
A: This change is part of our evolution as a professional body. Our goal remains to advance professional capability in business agility — but now with a greater focus on accessibility, community, and impact at scale. We’ll continue to uphold high standards while creating space for more professionals to grow and be recognised for their contributions.
Q: Will you still run Professional Masterclasses?
A: Yes, we will still be running our online, expert-led masterclasses, but they will be open to all members of the Agile Business Consortium.
