Membership Event: When Everything Is a Priority - What Actually Helps

Thursday 5th March 2026

🗓️ Thursday 5th March 2026

🕐 14:00 - 16:00 GMT

📍 Online

In many organisations, prioritisation is intended to be a thoughtful decision-making process. In practice, it often feels harder than it should. Work is pulled toward what is loudest, most urgent, or easiest to start. Requests accumulate. Stakeholders escalate. Urgency begins to replace clarity.

Over time, everything starts to feel important. Trade-offs are rarely made explicit, decisions are revisited, and priorities shift frequently. Teams remain busy, but momentum and meaningful impact gradually erode. The typical response is to introduce more frameworks, more scoring models, or more process discipline, yet these rarely address the underlying causes.

In this masterclass, we’ll explore why prioritisation so often breaks down, even in mature Agile and project-based organisations. We’ll examine how human behaviour, decision fatigue, organisational dynamics, and poorly designed decision systems influence what gets worked on, often more than strategy or value.

Rather than offering another technique for ranking work, this session reframes prioritisation as a decision design challenge. You’ll learn how to create conditions where trade-offs are clearer, decisions are more durable, and focus is better protected, even under sustained pressure.

By the end of the session, you’ll be able to:

  • Recognise the hidden forces that derail effective prioritisation
  • Make trade-offs more explicit and less political
  • Reduce decision fatigue and repeated re-prioritisation
  • Choose and apply prioritisation approaches more deliberately
  • Design prioritisation as an ongoing system, not a one-off exercise

This session offers a practical, modern perspective on why prioritisation fails and how to redesign it so it works in real organisational contexts.
