An Invitation to Co-Create The Agile Finance Manifesto

Background to this session:

In the process of delivering outcomes for various companies, we’ve observed a critical trend: finance is the final frontier of business agility. While other departments have embraced agile practices, finance has often been left out.

But why does this matter?

Where accountants embrace Agile, we see the rest of their organisations adopting Agile ways of working without the need for long, complex and expensive transformation programs. This is because what gets measured improves and what gets recognised gets done. If we are required to report on and are rewarded for being agile, we will naturally transition to delivering in the most effective ways possible.

Why do we need an Agile Finance Manifesto?

Finance departments and the stakeholders they support (the C-suite), can’t be shoved into Agile. They cannot be shamed or bullied into it. All attempts to do this, in our experience, has scared the horses and caused them to remain steadfast in their approaches.

We need to collaborate with each other and learn from each other. Most importantly we need to show that we have given all causes for concern deep thought and look for ways forward which help everyone.

This includes helping Agilists to understand the accountants’ mindset. We do this by creating a Manifesto which clearly and succinctly articulates what an Agile Accountant looks like.

Help us to support the Agile and Finance communities by joining us.

Together, we will:

  • Co-create the emerging Agile Finance Manifesto

  • Help unleash the power of agility in finance and transform the way organisations operate.

All participants will be attributed as co-authors.
