From Paper to Predictive: How Dubai’s ‘My Food’ Initiative Transformed Food Safety Forever
Presentation from Dubai’s ‘My Food’ at the Agile Business Conference 2025.

Imagine a city that serves three billion meals a year, where every bite is a promise of safety. Now imagine people safeguarding that promise – hundreds of thousands of food handlers, trainers, transporters and inspectors – working within a slow paper-heavy system. That was Dubai, until it was reimagined.
Through the ‘My Food’ initiative, Dubai didn’t just digitize processes, they reinvented food safety governance using AI, blockchain and IoT so that permit processes that once took days now take minutes.
Training has become adaptive, personalized and instantly certified. Food vehicles are approved in hours, with sensors predicting failures before they happen.
Today their system is paperless, predictive and preventative. They’ve cut CO2 and emissions, eliminated bottlenecks and protected public health on a huge scale… and global regulators are now benchmarking against them.
After reviewing an incredible selection of case study submissions, our 2025 Agile Business Conference Awards panel selected the most outstanding entries that showcase innovation, impact, and excellence. Dubai’s ‘My Food’ initiative was one of the awarded organisations invited to share their stories of excellence at the Agile Business Conference 2025.
