Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour we expect across our community, events, courses and online spaces. It helps create a respectful, inclusive and professional environment where people can learn, share and collaborate with confidence.
Purpose and scope
The Agile Business Consortium brings together a diverse network of organisations, professions and individuals united by a shared belief that work can be better.
We exist to help individuals and organisations navigate change in a world that does not stand still. Through our global community, we shape the thinking, principles and learning that make business agility real, trusted and part of everyday decision making and action. Together, we strengthen how people work and lead, building organisations that are adaptable, flexible and resilient.
Our long-term intent is a world where people and organisations can adapt, learn and evolve as a natural part of how work gets done and value is delivered. That ambition starts with how we show up for one another.
This Code of Conduct sets the standard for how we behave across our communities, events and resources. It applies to everyone who engages with the Consortium, including colleagues, volunteers, moderators, board members, ambassadors and members.
It exists to protect our community and to protect you. It ensures that our spaces are professional, inclusive and respectful, so that every voice can be heard and every contribution valued. By being part of the Consortium, you agree to uphold these principles and help create an environment where business agility can thrive.
Expected behaviours
- Be Respectful & Constructive. Agile thrives on feedback and collaboration, and so does this community. Treat all members with respect, professionalism, and kindness. Debate ideas, not individuals—disagreements are welcome, but personal attacks, dismissiveness, or inflammatory language are not. Seek to understand different perspectives and assume positive intent.
- Share Value & Stay Engaged. The best agile teams are active, adaptable, and engaged, and we encourage the same here! Share your real-world experiences, challenges, and strategies. When contributing, ask yourself: Does this help others learn, improve, or think differently? Thoughtful discussions, case studies, and practical insights drive meaningful conversations.
- Foster Inclusivity & Psychological Safety. Agile is for everyone, and so is this community. We do not tolerate discrimination, hate speech, or exclusionary behaviour of any kind. This includes offensive comments based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or professional background. We strive to create a safe space where all voices are heard and valued.
- Stay Agility Focussed. To keep discussions relevant and high value, ensure your contributions align with topics such as agile approaches, business agility, leadership, culture, team empowerment, change management and organisational transformation. Off-topic discussions may be redirected to appropriate spaces or posts to keep conversations productive.
- Act in the best interest of the organization and ecosystem. Follow meet-up confidentiality rules and work in a way that supports the vision, mission and purpose of the Agile Business Consortium. Be Transparent About Promotions & Conflicts of Interest. Sharing helpful resources is encouraged, but blatant self-promotion, sales pitches, or spam will not be tolerated. If you have a professional or financial interest in something you share, please disclose it to maintain trust and integrity in our discussions.
- Address Issues Professionally. If you encounter a problem – whether it’s a disagreement or inappropriate content – avoid public confrontations. Instead, report issues to a moderator or use the reporting feature. Agile values retrospectives and improvement, and we handle concerns constructively to ensure the best experience for everyone.
- Moderation & Continuous Improvement. Our moderators are here to facilitate productive discussions and uphold the values of agile collaboration. If a post or behaviour does not align with our guidelines, we may take action, including content removal, warnings, or, in serious cases, removal from the community. If you have concerns about moderation, please reach out privately via our [email protected] email address.
Note. Business agility is about continuous learning, collaboration, and improvement, and this community is no different. By participating, you agree to contribute positively, share insights openly, and help shape a space where agile professionals thrive.
Reporting concerns and enforcement
- Reporting. Concerns or breaches should be reported promptly. Reports can be made via the appropriate channel (e.g. [email protected], direct message to a moderator/host, or escalation to the Community Engagement team). Reports should include as much detail as possible (who, what, where and when) but need not include personal data unless necessary.
- Confidentiality and non‑retaliation. All reports will be handled sensitively. We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who in good faith reports an issue or assists with an investigation.
- Process. The Consortium will investigate reported breaches and may seek further information from the parties involved. Responses may include a private warning, temporary mute, removal of content, removal from events or permanent exclusion from the community. Serious or illegal behaviour may result in membership being terminated (view member T&Cs) and/or cases being escalated to relevant authorities.
- Appeals. Individuals subject to sanctions may appeal to the designated appeals panel by submitting a written statement outlining why the decision should be reconsidered.
- Review. This code of conduct will be reviewed annually, incorporating feedback from community members and reflecting evolving best practice. Updates to the Agile Business Consortium’s professional standards or other related policies will also trigger a review.
