Very often change initiatives such as Agile transformations fail, for one good reason: culture. The current organisational culture doesn’t always allow for the new values of Agile and, as such, too many conflicts emerge that are left unresolved. Soon, one starts to hear people blaming Agile for “the state of things around here”. In actuality, it’s not Agile or the other processes that have been used. Instead, it is the people and the prevalent culture of how things are done that are to blame. With that in mind, what can the Project Manager do to help and support leaders in shaping a new culture - one where Agile practices and thinking become the norm rather than being viewed as a fad?
