London Member Day Review

By Jenny Bailey | 21 March 2016

The London Member Day was a great success and it was lovely to see so many of our members attend – it was almost standing room only!

The day started with Jason Wright, our Membership Director welcoming everyone to the day and informing members of what new products are in the pipeline and general news on the Consortium.

Chris Davies presented a great Agile Governance presentation that included a very useful framework and showed us an example of how to use it in an organisation.  His experience and knowledge of Agile was clear as he talked passionately about the subject.

Next as a change to the original schedule, Myriam Hamed Torres a Director of DSDM gave a presentation on Effective Agile Retrospectives which highlighted some great tips to running valuable retrospectives.

We were very fortunate to have Ed Holt, the Founder of DSDM join us and attend the morning sessions.  His presentation gave an insight into the Consortium’s view of Agile in business and how Agile is growing rapidly beyond IT.

Fraser How from Ketso gave us an interactive workshop where we all got to grips with this fantastic facilitation tool.  Working in teams the topic was collaboration and DSDM.  Lots of fun discussion and viewpoints were shared and most importantly everyone was given a voice.

Mark Buchan from nlighten finished off the day with a fun presentation entitled More Power to the People - roadblocks and solutions to the empowered organisation. This was a fascinating insight into some of the reasons why leaders and managers fail to unleash the potential of the hidden talent within the organisation.

Our next Member Day is on Thursday 28 April in Birmingham, more information can be viewed on our website.

We look forward to seeing you there.
